David McElroy, 59, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
He was born in Richmond on January 16, 1957. He worked for Eastern Kentucky University in the maintenance department, and in later years worked as a truck driver for various companies. He was a member of the Clarksville Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his wife of 41 years, Barbara Marcum McElroy; his father, Ollie Joe McElroy (Allie); his mother, Stella Perry; two sons, Eric and Matthew McElroy; his brothers, Donald McElroy (Nannie), Arnold Perry, Jr. (Kathy), Douglas Perry (Shellye); his sisters, Sondra Hallinan (Howard), Brenda Turner, Patricia Joines (Henry), and Barbara Harsch (John); 3 grandchildren, including a granddaughter who made her home with Paul, Nichole Hackney; three great-grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his son, William Phillip McElroy; and his step-father, Arnold Perry.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Johns and Bro. James Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in the College Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 12 noon, Friday, at the funeral home.
