Rex Ecklar, 77, of Cynthiana, died Saturday, December 10, 2016, at his residence. Born in Harrison County, March 7, 1939, to the late Carl and Ada Ray Carr Ecklar, he was a farmer, a developer of Northside Mobile Home Estates and co-owner of Interstate Mobile Home. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Lou Mary Wachter.
He is survived by: three sons, Gary (Sandy) Ecklar of Cynthiana and Darren (Jennifer) Ecklar and Nicholas Denton, both of Richmond; a daughter, Julie Ecklar, of Cynthiana; two brothers, Ronald Ecklar and Carl Ray Ecklar, both of Cynthiana; 11 grandchildren, Chase Wachter, Quinn Wachter, Chad Ecklar, Joshua Ecklar, Casey Lou Ecklar, Taryn Wilson, Mary Todd Ashbrook, Megan Fields, Devin Ecklar, Jacob Denton and Raychel Denton; several great-grandchildren and a friend, Gmatt Noble.
Private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
