Richard Boyd Combess, Sr., 69, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
Born October 20, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky, he was the son of Clarence Boyd and Gloria Marie Lepper Combess, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a disabled Army veteran of the Vietnam Era who enjoyed fishing and loved classic cars. Richard was of the Catholic faith and an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan. Most of all, his life revolved around his family.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Boyd Combess, Jr. of Richmond and Robert Boyd Combess of Berea; his daughter, Kimberly Lee Combess of Berea; three sisters, Mary Linda Ferris, Kathy Hagaman, and Carol Bridewell; grandchildren, Alexander, Paul Combess, Annalee Taylor Combess, Andrew Boyd Combess, Kameryn Lee Boyd Lawson; his significant other, Phyllis Caudill; one niece and four nephews.
Funeral service for Richard will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2017 at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home, with Deacon Jim Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
