Robert's Story

Text size

Rob Dickerson, 51, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, went to the big kitchen in the sky where he is sitting at the table with his mamma, eating Chicken & Dumplings, drinking coffee, and "smoking that damn cigarette".
He was born on November 3, 1965, in Richmond. Rob loved to cook, eat and tell stories no matter how tall of tale it was. He was an avid UK Basketball fan and was excited to see them win their 30th SEC Championship. He also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and going fishing with his daughter. Rob never met a stranger, and loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Left to miss him are: his wife of 25 years, Sherry Stamper Dickerson; his sons, James Dickerson (Fiancée, Tracy) and Chris Todd Dickerson; his daughter, Bailey Elaine Dickerson; four grandchildren, Kadence, Kaleb, Ali and Sara; one brother, Eugene Dickerson; one sister, Tonya Cates (Gary); as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Whittamore Lowery.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main Street, with Pastor Wade Coyle & Pastor Chris May officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Todd Dickerson, John Claypoole, Rob Thompson, Marvin "Buddy" Whittamore, Joe Napier, Gary Wayne Cates, and Matt Middleton.
