Robert's Story

Robert Anton Grant, 60, better known as Tony, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018, from injuries he sustained from a fall.
Tony was born in Richmond on May 7, 1957 to the late Robert Buddy and Anne Baumstark Grant. He was a factory worker for EnerSys for over 37 years and a loving friend, neighbor, and husband. He enjoyed working with electronics and was a long time Ham Radio operator and member of the Central Kentucky Amateur Radio Society. Tony also was a long time member of the Waco Baptist Church where he was active in helping with the sound system.
Survivors include: his wife of 35 years, Mary Lynch Grant; his sister, Marsha Nash (Jeffrey); his sister-in-law, Sandra Johnson; as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Waco Baptist Church, 3646 Irvine Road, with Pastor Mike Erickson officiating.
Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the church.
A private interment will take place at the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Claude Helfrich, Johnny Christian, Wendell Tipton, Melvin Alcorn, and all of his Ham Radio friends.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
