Roger Dean Alexander, 80, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017. He was the husband of Nellie Evans Alexander.
Roger was born on July 21, 1936, in Versailles, Kentucky, and was the son of Victor and Martha Cherryholmes Alexander, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. Roger was a retired truck driver with McLean Trucking, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the V.F.W.
Survivors include: his wife, Nellie Alexander; three sons, Kenneth Dean Alexander (Connie), of West Virginia, Ronnie Alexander (Johna), of Richmond, and Roger Dean Alexander (Vickie), of Waco; two daughters, Vickie McIntyre (Chuck), and Gwen Johnson, both of Waco; eight grandchildren, John Christopher Rose, Christy Reeves, Josh Alexander, Ryan Dunaway, Rhea Lowery, Brandy Mulcahy, Zach Johnson, and Evan Alexander; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Alexander; and one sister, Sally Alexander.
Roger was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lee Alexander, and a daughter, Kathy Osborne.
Funeral service for Roger will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Glendon Mays officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
Pallbearers will be: Zach Johnson, Ryan Dunaway, Josh Alexander, John Christopher Rose, Evan Alexander, and Louis Potts.
