Ronnie Eugene Reams, 75, of Dreyfus, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
Ronnie was born in Madison County on February 17, 1942, to the late Roland Jr. and Alfreda Trivett Reams. He was a retired roofer having worked for Person & Phelps, as well as CentiMark. Ronnie enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed raising game chickens. He was a member of the John F. Marshall Memorial Holiness Church and Bethesda House of Mercy.
On May 22, 1963, he was united in marriage to Rosa Lee Mowery Reams who survives.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by: three daughters, Freda A. Cates (Bob), Nancy L. Webb (Leman) and Rhonda G. Rivera; one step-son, Terry Joe Lakes; three brothers, Wallace Reams, Paul Reams (Becky) and Robbie Reams Stump; seven grandchildren, Leah Mae Miller (Shaun), Ashley Ramsey (Joe), Robert Shane Cates, Laura Baker, April Baker, Maria Rivera and Candra Rivera; three step-grandchildren, Tiana Lakes, Aaron Lakes and Kelly Lakes; six great-grandchildren, Chloe Miller, Makenzie Grace Weigel, Tyler Wilson, Kayleigh Baker, Jackson Cruse and Addie Cates; five step-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry L. Reams and Sidney Reams.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., with Bro. David Ballard, Bro. Calvin Marshall and Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Reams Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Jackie Howard, Shane Garrett, Joe Ramsey, Bob Cates, Leman Webb and Shane Cates
