Roy Campbell Lakes, 79, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Madison County on July 29, 1937, the son of the late John and Rosella Powell Lakes. He was a tobacco and cattle farmer who dedicated his life to his family and his farm.
Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Eva Gregory Lakes; three daughters, Angela Lakes, Kimberly Lakes and Beverly Kass (Steve); three brothers, Robert Lakes, James Lakes and John Lakes; two sisters, Sue Miracle and Edith Richardson; six grandchildren, Hillary, Lauren, Amanda, Travis, Allen and Tommy; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Debra Lakes Tudor; and siblings, Arthur, Tim, Mayme, Katherine, Eva Lou and Wanda.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Greg King officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Lakes, Rodney Lakes, Travis Hensley, Billy Tudor, Lee Smith and Daryl Lakes. www.cpcfh.com
