Youngest daughter of Franklin Pierce and Louise Burchell Stivers passed away January 10, 2018. She was the last of their seven children to go.
She is survived by her five children: Suzanne Nichols, Daniel Bowling (Nancy), Eugenia Elliott ( Mike), Ralph Bowling (Sandy) and Jonathan Bowling; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Claire and Caroline.
Alzheimer's slowly took her life. Her last years were spent at Belmont Village Memory Care Neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky. We are ever grateful for the care and love that she received there. Gratitude also to Hosparus, who has been part of her team in the last year.
The final contribution of her struggle against the disease was the donation of her brain and body to a research project on Alzheimer's disease being carried out at the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, PO Box 34184, Lexington, KY 40588, With a notation - for research clinic
There will be a memorial celebration of her life in the spring.
Rest in peace Mama.
