Stella's Story

Stella Collins Hopper, 75, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
Stella was born on August 20, 1941, in Madison County, and was the daughter of Alan Charles and Christine Marshall Collins, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a member of Kirksville Baptist Church and was a retired waitress.
Survivors include: two daughters, Darnetta Faye Arguello and Darla Denise Roe, both of Richmond; five grandchildren, Jennifer, April, Timothy, Jessica and Travis; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tony Collins (Debbie) of Nicholasville, and Jimmy Collins (Ada) of Richmond; and one sister, Ruth Richardson (Sherman) of Lake Placid, Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mable Tribble, Lillie Hoskins, Rose Schroedel and Beulah Powell, and two brothers, Tobe and Melvin Collins.
Funeral service for Stella Hopper will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Butch Pennington officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017, at Richmond Cemetery.
