Walker "Juke" Taylor, 75, husband of Judy Mansfield Taylor, passed away Thursday at the Compassionate Care Center after a long illness. Mr. Taylor was was born February 11, 1942, in Madison County, a son of the late Leonard Walker Taylor and the late Lydia Henson Taylor. He was preceded in death by: an infant sister, Dexter; a sister, Glynda Carol Taylor; a brother, Donald Taylor; and a sister, Dixie Shelton. He was a member of the Waco Baptist Church, a graduate of MCHS, attended EKU. He served his country in the National Guard. He was a retired employee of South Central Bell Telephone Company (AT&T), having retired in 2000. He had a love of farming, hard work, finding and collecting antiques, and enjoyed his loafing circle of friends.
Survivors other than his wife Judy include: his son, Brad Taylor; two sisters, Barbara (Kenneth) Justice and Margaret (Dean) Acker, all of Richmond; his nieces and nephews Ty Justice of Atlanta, Ga., Jeff (Tara) Griffith of Bowling Green, Ky., Michelle and Teresa Taylor of Richmond; and three great-nephews Owen Griffith, Donnie Wyatt and Blake Eades.
Service will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, October 23, at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 10 a.m. Monday until service time. Pallbearers will be Lester Anglin, Henry Bach, Jeff Griffith, Peron Harris, Glenn Richardson, and Irving Whicker.
