Walter Glenn Davis


Walter Glenn Davis, 62, of Richmond, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Kindred Hospital Louisville.

He was born May 30, 1956, in Richmond, to Willie Mae Marshall Davis and the late Homer Davis. Walter was a truck driver for many years and was a retired custodial supervisor at Eastern Kentucky University. He was a faithful member of John F. Marshall Memorial Holiness Church at Red House. Walter loved his church, enjoyed fishing, and adored his family, especially his grandsons.

In addition to his mother, Willie Mae, survivors include his wife, Wilma Lee Gross Davis; one daughter, Amy Whitis (Michael) of Shelbyville; one son, Christopher Davis of Munfordville, KY; his grandsons, Christian and Cameron Whitis; three sisters, Sandra Parrett (Bill), Janice Rhodus (Ricky) and Sharon Still (Carl); four brothers, Bobby Davis (Nettie Darlene), James Davis (Marilyn), Kenny Davis (Mary Sue) and Homer Davis, Jr. (Jessica). He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Walter will be held 5 9 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral home. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the John F. Marshall Memorial Holiness Church, with Bro. Calvin Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery on High Reeves Road.

His nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Michael, Christian, and Cameron Whitis.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to help with funeral expenses.
