William Gene Kelly, 24, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
He was born on October 30, 1992, in Lexington, Kentucky, and lived in Paint Lick his entire life. Will graduated from Model in 2011, where he played baseball and qualified as an individual competitor in the State Golf Tournament. He attended Eastern Kentucky University for two years, and worked for KCI, the family construction business, as well as helping his family with farm work.
Will was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended Eastside Community Church. He was a collector of many things, enjoyed golfing and working with his father and he loved being with his family, and spending time with his special friend, Peyton Harvey, and his dog, Delilah.
He was the son of Jimmy and Billie Jean Strong Kelly of Paint Lick; a brother to Jimmi Lynn Watson (Tyler) and an uncle to Bo Bradley and Tyler Jean Watson. He was the grandson of William H. "Bill" Strong and the late Jeannie Strong of Richmond, and Gene and Pauline Kelly of Paint Lick.
Other survivors include: an uncle, Gary Kelly (Yvette); and cousins, Candice Maynard (Dustin), Lauren Roseberry (Scott), Brittany Davis (Branden), Bryce Marcum and Paige Marcum.
Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Dr. Virgil Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Maynard, Scott Roseberry, Branden Davis, Lee Risk, and Dewain Woolum. Honorary bearers will be Gary Kelly, Tyler Watson, Mike Duncan, Chris Webb and Steve Strong.
