Alton Ray Parsons, Jr., 63, husband of Julie Moseley Parsons, died on August 6, 2017. He was the son of Edna Mae Mullins Parsons and the late Alton Ray Parsons, Sr.
Ray graduated from Tates Creek High School in 1971 and attended UK. Later, he joined his father in the family business, Uncle Charlie's Meats, Inc., where his dedication to quality and the wellbeing of his employees spanned a 31 year career. He held many leadership positions at Central Christian Church in Lexington, where he met Julie when they were both members of the choir. Ray was known for his devotion to family, his love of music, and his playful sense of humor.
In addition to his wife of 25 years and his mother, Ray is survived by: cherished sons, Stephen Ray Parsons and Michael Fredrick Parsons, and nephews Erin Christopher Fannin and Brian Fannin and their families. He was predeceased by his father and his sisters, Terry and Elise Parsons.
Ray's family will receive friends on Saturday, August 12, 2017, beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11AM at Central Christian Church in Lexington.
