Mr. Charles Hatton, 87, widower of Betty Wells Hatton, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
He was born on February 5, 1930, in Winchester, to the late Virgil and Daisy Crawford Rawlins. Mr. Hatton was a Veteran having served his country for four years in the US Marine Corps. He was a Richmond City Commissioner in the 1960s and was retired from Phillips Lighting after 30 years of service. He loved fishing, NASCAR, good conversation and playing cards with his grandkids and son-in-law. He was a member of Ashland Church.
He is survived by: two daughters, Yvonne Rawlins (Shelby), and Tina Dennis (Mark); two grandchildren, Tyler and Mayce Dennis; two sisters, Marie Black, and Alma Risk (Garnett); as well as several nieces, nephews cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Pastor Jeremy Haskins officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Shelby Rawlins, Tyler Dennis, EM Snowden, Gayle Hatton, Gerry Hatton and Sammy Black.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mayce Dennis, Garnett Risk, Rusty Risk, Mary Pruitt and Glynn Puritt.
Donations in member of Mr. Hatton are suggested to the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY 40475.
