Curtis's Story

Curtis Reppert, 80, of Berea, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at St. Joseph East in Lexington of complications following a heart attack. He was a Madison County native born June 10, 1937, son of the late Robert and Lucille Gilliam Reppert, U.S. Army Veteran (Military Police Unit), graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a B.S. in Education (Class of 1961) and had been a resident of Berea most of his life. 
Curtis was a member of American Legion Post 50, Oleika Shrine Temple, and an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. He was a retired Berea College employee, employee of the Madison County School System since 1996 at Madison Southern High School where he was active in athletics and athletic events. For many years, he served as an Election Officer. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and also attended Berea United Methodist Church. 
Survivors include: his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Sandifer Reppert; two children, Sandy L. Reppert-Lanham and Brian Curtis Reppert; three siblings, Wanda (Bill) Wren, Ruby (Donnie) Hale and Belinda Reppert; one granddaughter, Briana Lanham; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral Service 1 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, in Madison Southern High School Gymnasium with Bro. Vaughn Rasor, Bro. Achee Eads and Bro. William Dooley officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in Madison Southern Gymnasium. 
Pallbearers will be: William Wren, Wesley Williams, Chad Kidwell, David Gilliam, Shane Buttry, John Lovell. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chester Elkin, Steve Pennington, Arno Norwell, Ken Riley, Keith Riley, Joey Howard, Rohan Alexander, Rob Brock, family, neighbors, Members of American Legion, Members of Oleika Shrine Temple, Madison Southern High School Administration, Faculty and Staff, Madison County Law Enforcement Officers, and Madison County Veterans.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children, Mike's Kids Education Foundation, or Berea College.
