Fatu Sevelo, 18, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his home. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, he was the son of, Fatu and Mele Sevelo. Fatu was a graduate of Madison Southern High School where he played on the football team and wrestling team. He was attending Eastern Kentucky University.
Fatu was a happy young man and loved to engage you in conversation and always gave you hug goodbye. He loved to play his ukulele and was very proud of his Tongan heritage. Fatu was of Catholic faith and a member of Saint Clare Catholic Church.
Other than his parents, he is survived by: his siblings, Jane (Brian) Hokanson of Troy, Idaho, Vika (Tom) Brummett of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sela Sevelo of Berea, Ana Sevelo and Tamiyah Sevelo both of Anchorage, Alaska; his brothers, Paulatai Sevelo and Andy Thompson, both of Berea, and Fehi Sevelo of Honolulu, Hawaii; his paternal grandfather, Latu Sevelo of Honolulu, Hawaii; and a niece, Soana Hokanson.
Fatu was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tevita and Soana Tauakipulu, and his paternal grandmother, Tangi Tangi Sevelo.
Funeral Mass will be 6 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, at Saint Clare Catholic Church with Father Michael Flanagan officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, from 4-9 p.m. and again Friday from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home.
