Freddie Ben Davis, 86, husband of 68 years to Etta Burnell Davis, went home to be with the Lord very peacefully Monday, November 7, at Berea Health and Rehabilitation. He was born to the late Ikey and Delora Wren Davis.
Mr. Davis was retired from Dresser Industries after 30 years of service, he was also a farmer and home builder. He was a kind and considerate man and very meticulous in all that he did and did it to the best of his abilities. Mr. Davis was a Kentucky Colonel, a member and former trustee of Bethel Baptist Church, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Phyllis Davis Stelson and Freddie Keith Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by: his grandchildren, Fred Davis and Saundra Beth (David) Taylor, both of Berea, Kristen (Ken) Smith of Roseburg, Oregon, Jennifer (Bryon) Letourneau of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Rebecca (Eddie) Prather of Denver, Colorado; and great grandsons, Bryn, James and Thomas Letourneau and Ethan Smith. His brother and two sisters, Kenton Davis, Ann (Charles) Rowlette and Judy (Roger) Wilson all of Berea, along with many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Randy McPheron and Rev. Kenny Davis officiating, burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fred Davis, Ken Smith, Bryon Letourneau, Ethan Smith, Roger Wilson, Charlie Carpenter, Bryon, James, and Thomas Letourneau and Ethan Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Forrester Van Winkle, Alonzo Rowlette, Ernie Davis, Harvey Whittemore, Frances Boggs, J.C. Burnell, Charles Rowlette, Anthony Burnell and Tommy Willis.
