J.D. Hamilton, 85, of Richmond, formerly of Waco, passed away Thursday morning, June 29, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Hamilton was born on June 22, 1932, in Madison County, at Redhouse, the son of the late John Dewey "J.D." Hamilton Sr. and Clara Rupard Hamilton. He was a retired Farmer and Truck Driver and was a member of The Flatwoods Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include: his wife, Dixie Curry Hamilton; two daughters, Glynda Thompson (Brannon) and Patty Cohil (Kirk); one son, Skip Marion; one sister, Margaret Ray McClean; four grandchildren, Logan and Dylan Thompson and Kyleigh and Chase Cohil; as well as several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Troy McClean Hamilton.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery at Waco.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, July 10, 2017, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Skip Marion, Brannon Thompson, Logan Thompson, Kirk Cohil, Donnie Wilson, Jerry Spicer and Eugene Stagner.
