James Lloyd Minix, 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his home in Richmond.
The husband of Janet Eileen Clark Minix, James was born in Pike County, Ohio, to the late Henry Lee and Clara Lowe Minix. A self-employed carpenter and meat cutter, James was of the Baptist faith.
Along with his wife, Mr. Minix is survived by: three sons, Timmy (Lynn) Minix of Texas, Jimmy (Amber) Minix of Chilicothe, Ohio, and Carl (Roger) Minix of Florida. He is also survived by two daughters, Carla (Scott) Shatto of Geneva, Ohio ,and Sue (Randy) Farthing of Richmond, and one brother, Gene (Zorine) Minix of Columbus, Ohio; a brother in law, Robert C. Clark of Dade City, Florida; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Minix was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gene Minix, and two sisters, Elizabeth Minix and Helen Easterling
Service for Mr. Minix will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with his nephew Rev. Gary Easterling officiating.
Visitation for James Minix will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
