Robert E. Luxon, Jr., 79, of Richmond, passed away Thursday evening at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
Mr. Luxon was born February 19, 1938, in Richmond, to Robert Edwin Luxon, Sr. and Josephine Cosby Luxon, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a local business owner, a member of First Christian Church, and a member of the Elks Club. He always had a smile on his face, was known for his generosity, and enjoyed golf, and the time he spent with family and friends.
Survivors include: his wife, Harriet Curtis Luxon; one son, Robert Luxon III (Susan) of Richmond; one daughter, Elizabeth Dimond (Neil) of Naperville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Andrew Luxon (Paige), Thomas Luxon, Julia Luxon, Lauren Kimmerling (Adam), Meghan DiSanto (Jesse) and Trey Dimond; one great grandson, Bo Luxon; one sister, Sallie Baker of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Robert Luxon will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Condrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Luxon, Trey Dimond, Thomas Luxon, Barrie Baker, Neil Dimond, Edwin Luxon Sr. and Edwin Luxon Jr. Honorary bearers will be Lee Baker, Billy Luxon, Rondall Durham, Jim Sloane, Charles Hacker and Al Tribble.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
