Billy  Marcum
Reverend Dr. Billy Darrell Marcum passed away at the age of 88 on September 16, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Jean Hobbs of Hagan, VA.
Dr. Marcum was born May 11, 1931 in Richmond, KY. He pastored the First Baptist Church in Brandenburg, KY for 28 years. Dr. Marcum retired in 1996 and he was later named Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church. Dr. Marcum was bestowed the honor of Kentucky Colonel by Governor Paul Patton.
Dr. Marcum was preceded in death by his father, Mr. William Earl Marcum; his stepmother, Margaret of Richmond, KY; his mother Mrs. Myrtle (Harris) Chandler of Cincinnati, OH; and his sister, Mrs. Ardelia Frances Iorfida of Cincinnati, OH. In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by his son, Daryl Douglas (Pat) Marcum and daughter, Cosette H. (Jimmy) Tucker; five grandchildren: James (Tammy) Bates, Timothy (Kerry) Bates, Dana Marcum, Amy Marcum, and Leah Nichole Tucker; eight great-grandchildren: Mark, Austin, Alex, Aaron, MaLeah, Macie, Zayden, and Harlow; four great-great-grandchildren: Connor, Charles, Chance, and Maxwell. He is also survived by a half-brother, Terry (Mary) Marcum and half-sister, Vickie (Mark) Tischendorf; cousins who were very close, Miss Emily Bush, Sharon (Cline) Mullins; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 19th at 11:00 AM EDT at the First Baptist Church in Brandenburg with burial to follow at Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18th from 3:00 - 8:00 PM EDT and Thursday after 9:00 AM at First Baptist Church.
