Elizabeth Rogers Smith
Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers Smith, 92, the widow of Sterlan Smith, passed away Sunday morning, October 6, 2019.
Mrs. Smith was born on July 3, 1927 in Madison County, the daughter of the late Simp and Jessie Sowers Rogers. She was a member of The Lexington Road Church of God, and was a retired employee of The Kids Konnection Daycare at the church. She had previously worked at J.C. Penney, Britts Department Store and Sharon's Hallmark.
Survivors include one son: Mitchell Smith (Donna), and one daughter: Brenda Hill; four grandchildren: William Hill (Nadia), Michael Shane Smith, Sharon Michelle Hodge (Jim) and Carla Durham (Todd); six great-grandchildren: Devin Ballinger, Amber Belamy (Ron), Kyleigh Durham, Isabella Durham, Lucas Hill and Sofia Hill; one sister: Anna Lee Edmonson; one brother: Neal Burnam Rogers (Dona) and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Johnathon Tussey officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are: Devin Ballinger, William Hill, Todd Durham, Shane Smith, Curtis Tate and Amber Belamy.

Brenda, I just heard of your mothers passing. It's so hard to loose a loved one but as you remember the good times you'll find that they are still with you. I'll always remember your mother helping me shop at Penny's, and all the work our parents put into the band when we were in high school.
