Richmond, KY - Floyd C Tackett, 82, husband of Gypsy Ann Tackett, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Madison Health and Rehab. Floyd was born in Richmond, Kentucky on December 12, 1943, to the late Lawrence and Ida Ruth Lane Tackett. Floyd was a plumber and electrician and owned and operated his own business with his son, Joey. He was a very active member of Fountain Park First Church of God. He loved live music and dancing. But most of all, Floyd loved race cars! He participated in and watched racing in every state on the East Coast.

In addition to his loving wife, Floyd is survived by his sons, Joey (Tiffany) Tackett and Steve West Tackett; grandchildren, Devin (Nicole) Tackett, Jessica (Brandon) Hamilton, Brysen Tackett, and Jolie Tackett; sisters Ruby Tackett Spears and Phyllis Tackett Ruble; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his sisters, Geneva Moore, Margaret Osborne, Elsie Moberly, and Helen Tackett; and brothers, Herbert Tackett, June (Cowboy) Tackett, Doug Tackett, and Maynard Tackett.

Floyd's funeral service will be at Oldham, Roberts, & Powell Funeral Home on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Bro. Chip Denief officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Devin Tackett, Brysen Tackett, Donald Spears, Harold Spears, Doug Tackett, and Billy Tackett.
