Mt Vernon, Kentucky - Lance Corporal Jeremy Douglas Gadd, 36, passed away on May 9, 2026, in Lexington,

Kentucky.

Jeremy was a 2008 graduate of Berea Community High School and went on to join the

Marine Corps in 2013. He served with the 3rd Regiment S6 Communication Platoon,

Cyber Security Operations in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. His service reflected the strength,

dedication, and loyalty that defined his character throughout his life. He carried the

values of honor, courage, and commitment with him long after his military service, and

those who knew him admired both his resilience and his deep sense of love for his

country.

Jeremy was a deeply curious soul whose love for learning and understanding the world

shaped the way he lived his life. He was an avid reader with a passion for knowledge,

always seeking answers about life, distant places, and the mysteries of what comes

next. Above all, Jeremy cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved son, Jeremy

Douglas Gadd, age 10; his parents, Amanda and Mark Gadd; his sisters, Sarah Fields

and Morgan Varney; and his brothers, James Gadd and Raine Robinson.

Jeremy will be remembered for having a heart bigger than his body, his loud strength,

and unwavering curiosity about the world around him. Though his time here was far too

short, he will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

Visitation for Jeremy will be Friday May 15, 2026 from 4-6 pm at Lakes Funeral Home

and Cremation Service in Berea, Kentucky. Funeral services will begin at 6 pm with

Military Honors to immediately follow.
