Larry Lockett Obituary

Richmond, Kentucky - Gone But Not Outdrawn

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Larry Lockett on May 28, 2026, at the age of 79. Born in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Dennis and Betsy May Lockett, Larry journeyed through life with strong faith, quiet strength, an infectious sense of humor, and a genuine love for family, friends, and strangers who quickly became friends. From an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, and that faith remained a steady guide throughout his life's journey.

Larry possessed a warm spirit that drew people to him. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making others feel welcome. Whether sharing a story, offering advice, or simply enjoying a conversation, Larry left a lasting impression on those he encountered. Music held a special place in his heart. Following in the footsteps of his father and brother, Larry learned to play the guitar and found great joy in gospel music. His favorite songs, "Mary, Don't You Weep," & "Woman at the well" became a few of the many melodies that accompanied him through life.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters, Velma Bullock of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth Pilson of Martinsville, Virginia; his beloved sister-in-law, Alice Lockett of Richmond, Kentucky; along with numerous family members and friends whose lives were enriched by his presence. While our hearts grieve his absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and celebrate the legacy of faith, kindness, and laughter he leaves behind.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7
