Lois Jean Durbin
Mrs. Lois Jean Cowan Durbin, 74, the widow of John Hayden Durbin, passed away Wednesday evening, September 11, 2019 at Baptist Health-Richmond.
Lois was born on May 14, 1945 in Richmond, the daughter of the late Harvey Cowan and June Barrett Cowan. She was a retired employee of The Madison County Detention Center and was a former employee of Westinghouse/Phillips. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and her close friends. Lois was a member of The Eastside Community Church.
Survivors include her son: Andrew Durbin of Richmond; two brothers: Pearl Cowan and Joe Cowan, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: James "Pony" Cowan, Jackie Cowan and Leon Cowan and two sisters: Glenna Cowan and Sandra Cowan.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Saturday at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the funeral home with Dr. Virgil Grant officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 10:00 AM Monday at the Richmond Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. www.cpcfh.com
