Pauline Parrish Chenault
Pauline Parrish Chenault, 102, of Richmond departed this life Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.

She was born near Otter Creek, KY, the youngest of six children born to William Parrish and Pauline Robinson Parrish on August 9, 1917. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Otha Chenault; her son, Harold Eugene Martin; her stepson, William Earl Chenault; three brothers, Alfred, William Earl, and Armour Parrish, and two sisters, Annie Martin and Elizabeth Walker.

On October 29, 1945, she united in marriage to Otha Chenault of Bybee, KY, three days before he left to serve in WWII. Otha and Pauline were married for 72 years. Pauline attended Otter Creek School and later Richmond High School. She worked for various families as a housekeeper in the Richmond area. She was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church Richmond; where she was active in the Adult Choir, Women's Fellowship, Senior Adult Fellowship, Alma Kavanaugh Missionary Circle, and served on numerous committees. She was involved in her community in the Richmond NAACP Chapter, the Brassfield Homemakers and AARP. She inspired many with the strength of her humble and quiet demeanor.

Pauline leaves to cherish her memory two grandchildren, Felicia Martin, Kevin Martin (Teresa), and a great-granddaughter, Jamicia Denning; three nieces, Rosetta Maupin, Viola Ballard, and Vickie Williams and a nephew, Virgil Parrish. She leaves behind numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Three of her special friends were Vashti Blythe, Maggie Dillingham, and Laura Gilbert. Pauline had a loving relationship with her great niece, Pamela Miller (Velmar) who she helped raise and was her devoted caregiver.

Funeral service for Pauline will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 AM until service time on Saturday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
